Septiembre 27 y 28

This week we started Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.

National Hispanic Heritage Month is annually celebrated from September 15 to October 15 in the United States for recognizing the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements for the United States.

We also continued learning about the Alphabet and Vowels.

We watched the video "El abecedario"

Students completed a worksheet where they had to follow directions of what color to color each letter.
They also completed some worksheet where words had some missing vowels.

Septiembre 20 y 21

This week we started learning the alphabet and the vowels.

We watched the video "El abecedario"

We fed a letter eating monster. I gave the students 2 letters and then asked "?Quien tiene la letra "A"?" they responded "yo tengo la letra "A"" and fed the monster, we also went over a word that starts with every letter.

                              

Students followed instructions like "Colorea la letra "P"morado in a work sheet.
In this exercise they had to identify by themselves every letter and then colored it the correct color.
Septiembre 13 y 14

This week we continued learning about the colors.

We watched the video "Colores, Colores"

We read a Story about Felipe going to school and finding his family and friends on his way to school, students had a coloring sheet and based on the reading they had to color the clothing of every character.

They also responded questions about the reading like "Que ropa lleva Felipe?"
to what they responded "Felipe lleva pantalones negros y camisa blanca"

Septiembre 6 y 7

This week students read and colored objects by reading sentences

We also read a Story that mentioned multiple people wearing different cloths and different colors for their outfits, we colored each characted as we read the story.

Agosto 30 y 31

This week we started reviewing "Los Colores"

We colored some crayons of each color and practiced tracing the names af all the colors. 

Agosto 23 y 24

This week we reviewed some greetings like "Hola, como estas?, "Muy bien gracias y tu?

Buenos Dias, Buenas Tardes, Buenas Noches, Como te llamas? Etc

We reviewed some Cognate words that are similar in Spanish and English

We dance to Go Noodle Songs in Spanish.

I also Introduced the words for Materials most used during Spanish Class as well as some common used actions in the classroom.

Students followed instructions to get materials and take actions in Spanis Class.

Agosto 17

We started the school year by intoducing ourselves by saying "Hola, Me llamo…"

I introduced the song we will be listening at the begining of each class, "Hola a todos Buenos dias"

I introduced my self and talked about some general information about me.

We talked about the importance of being respectful in Spanish class with their classmates and teacher, that we are all learning a new language and we might all pronounce words differently and that is totally ok.

We read the book: "Alberto va a la escuela" on Epic

And dance to other Go Noodle songs in Spanish
